Frugal Fashionable Finds

I may teach high school Physics but I am not a fuddy duddy.  Yes, I get it, that is a judgmental statement, but let's be honest...if you were to think about your high school physics teacher would you remember them as being fashionable and cool? Nope, didn't think so.  I like to think of myself as teetering on the edge of both of those things.  I try to be fashionable although at times I fall short (haha, you'll get the pun better when you know that I am only a little more than 5 feet tall!) and I am sometimes "cool" although I think my frequent references to Despicable Me in the classroom take away from that title too.  REGARDLESS of how I am viewed and how I think of myself, there is one thing I know for sure and that is that I like brand name gear (yup, I'm a label snob) AND I like a good deal.  Here is my chance to show the world that Physics teachers can be trendy too, or any teachers for that matter!  From time to time I will highlight my newest fashion finds.  I will focus on the frugal, but when the right item strikes me, I just have to take the plunge and spend the big bucks.  It doesn't happen often but when it does it is totally worth it.

My newest Frugal Find:

August 2013
New boots - Chinese Laundry from 6pm.com
New shirt - Target

One great perk of being a teacher is being able to continue school shopping! I love to shop, and yet I don't like to spend money and so I am always looking for a deal.  I love the website 6pm.com.  It is basically the clearance site of Zappos.com.  It changes often, so when I find a good deal I tend to act on it, such as the boots I am wearing here.  They were marked down to $50 dollars, which is a good price for riding boots.  I also got the shirt new this year.  I am looking for more layering pieces since my classroom gets so cold, so I was leaning towards button ups this year since I have a large collection of cardigans.  I love the sea foam green color and little blue dots on this one and I got it for $22.

July 2013
SPERRY's

I found this babies at Marshall's (one of my favorite stores!).  I always check the shoe collection there even though they RARELY carry size 5 (my shoe size, obviously).  Well, I scoured the clearance rack only to luck out and find these.  The picture makes the laces and soles look more yellow than they really are.  They are actually a yellow-greenish color which I love! And comparatively speaking to their retail price of $80, these were a steal.  Only 49 bucks!
